Private companies exploit our personal data for profit and get rich selling surveillance tech to law enforcement. Then they funnel the money back into supporting repressive governments.
It’s a cycle of surveillance and suppression where companies have an economic and political incentive to make sure law enforcement uses dystopian technology to track our every move. Technology should enhance our lives and support democracy, not make them worse.
